To see the greatness of a mountain, one must keep one’s distance; to understand its form, one must move around it; to experience its moods, one must see it at sunrise and sunset, at noon and at mid-night, in sun and in rain in all other season; He who can see the mountain like this, comes near to the life of the mountain, a life that is as intense and varied as that of a human being.‘Youth’- a wonderful phase of life, is filled with exuberant enthusiasm, abundant energy and vitality. Youth is a power that shapes the future of the nation and ‘Yuvashakti’ and ‘Himalayan Adventurers’ attempt to channelize this power in a purposeful manner. ‘Yuvashakti’ and ‘Himalayan Adventurers’ are two leading voluntary organizations, working in the field of trekking, mountaineering & allied adventure sports, in Pune. Twenty four years ago, a few young adventure lovers got together and started these two organizations with the aim of introducing young people to adventure activities such as trekking, mountaineering, skiing etc. under the guidance and support of Founder President Shri. Mohan Dharia, a well known nature lover & founder of ‘Vanarai’. Since 1983 we have been regularly organizing various high altitude trekking programmes in the Himalaya. We also organize bicycle and motorcycle expeditions in India, visits to wildlife sanctuaries, etc. throughout the year. In addition, we carry out activities like tree plantation and blood donation drives. In the last 26 years, ‘Yuvashakti’ and ‘Himalayan Adventurers’ have done a great deal for the youth of Maharashtra. Our activities are multi-faceted.
