‘Youth’- a wonderful phase of life, is filled with exuberant enthusiasm, abundant energy and vitality. Youth is a power that shapes the future of the nation and Yuvashakti and Himalayan Adventurers attempt to channelize this power in a purposeful manner.
‘Yuvashakti’ and ‘Himalayan Adventurers’ are two leading organizations in trekking and mountaineering in Pune. Seventeen years ago few young adventure lovers got together and started these two organizations with the aim of introducing young people to adventure activities such as trekking, mountaineering, skiing etc. under the guidance and support of founder president Shri. Mohan Dharia, a well known nature lover.
Since 1983 we have been regularly organizing various high altitude trekking programmes in the Himalaya. We also organize bicycle and motorcycle expeditions in India and abroad, visit to wildlife sanctuaries, etc. throughout the year. In addition, we carry out activities like tree plantation and blood donation drives.
The main aim of ‘Yuvashakti’ and ‘Himalayan Adventurers’ is to teach the youth to relate to nature. The purpose is to go away from polluted areas and breathe fresh air. The second purpose is to develop the leadership qualities and provide opportunities to get acquainted with a variety of regions and people.
Since the activities have been interesting, there is tremendous response from the people of Pune and all over Maharashtra. The number of participants has been increasing every year. With such a heartening response we mean to surge ahead and scale higher peaks of achievement.
The mighty Himalaya has always lured the sports lovers. However it is not easy to organize a trek on ones own, as it requires a lot of planning and resources. Therefore, Yuvashakti & Himalayan Adventurers have taken up this task. We arrange treks to various parts of the Himalaya and that too at a very reasonable cost.
The organizations will conduct various treks in the year 2005 viz. Panchachuli Glacier in Uttaranchal, Tringu Pass near Manali Himachal Pradesh, Valley of Flowers in Garhwal, Everest Base Camp in Nepal, Manali-Leh Safari & Tadoba Wild Life Camp etc. All the details of these programmes have been given in this brochure.
Combined with a little physical effort, we have opened unlimited opportunities to enjoy these high mountains, dense forests, lush meadows and green valleys, to get close to nature and to know different people, customs & cultures.
