Gir Jungle Safari                                                                                                                    

Gir is the only home in India for nearly 300 Asiatic Lions. The Gir National Park lies in the Gujarat peninsula in South-Western India. The terrain is rugged with low hills and the vegetation is mixed deciduous, with stands of Teak, Acacia, Jamun, Tendu and Dhak trees, interspersed with large patches of grasslands. The trees on the hills are sparse and stunted.

Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary is a 1412 sq. kms hilly tract of dry deciduous forests, acacia scrub, evergreen and semi-evergreen flora and grasslands, fed by rivers and streams.

The Gir Jungle Safari is organized by Yuvashakti in in one batch of 25 participants on 04th May 2010.

Date-wise Programme

04 May 09    :      Dep. for Mumbai and proceed to Rajkot.

05 May 09     :     Arr. Rajkot and proceed to Gir National Park.

06 May 09     :     Jeep rides in the Core area in the morning & evening.

07 May 09     :     Jeep rides in the Core area in the morning & evening.

08 May 09    :      Proceed to Rajkot. Overnight train journey.

09 May 09     :     Arr. Mumbai -  Tranfer to Pune.



fees
The fees for this camp will be Rs. 8,950/- per participant. This will include the entire travelling from Pune to Pune, accommodation at Gir (four  persons sharing a room), all meals at Gir, jungle rides, entry charges, guide charges. However, food charges during  journey, charges for still camera & movie camera,as levied by the forest department, will have to be borne by the participant.
