Annapurna Base Camp Trek is probably the best legendary and classical treks in the world that offers breathe stopping mountain views, give opportunity to experience the typical Nepali villages, local people and their way of living in the Himalaya of Nepal. The Annapurna Base Camp route goes passing through spectacular and tranquil landscapes, charming Chhumrung and Gurung villages, lush green Rhododendron, bamboo and alpine forests to the trip to the final camp at Annapurna Base Camp at the height of 4130m (13546ft.) The trail is equally a delight for its natural experiences. On the third day of our trekking, we leave Ghorepani for Poon Hill excursion before dawn to catch the spectacular sun rise. Poon Hill is one of the best viewpoints in this trek for a sun-rise view and mountain vista. Mount Dhaulagiri, the Annapurna Range and Mount Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain) to the northern part and the Butterfly Peaks in the far western part are all visible from atop Poon Hill. Finding yourself in the base of Annapurna I (8091m) with 360 degree Mountain View is terrifically beautiful beyond imagination. ABC trek, as it is popularly called is quite a moderate trek, and doesn’t demand advanced physical fitness levels so anyone can enjoy and take pleasure in nature walking during this trek. Trekking Annapurna Base Camp via Ghorepani allows your body to get adapted and acclimatized with high altitude. The highest elevation we will reach is 4130 meters from sea level at ABC Camp.

Trek Schedule : Annapurna Base Camp Trek

    Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m) - Land in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. A short briefing about the trek will be conducted in the evening. The remainder of the time can be spent in visiting local areas and exploring the culture of the locals.

    Drive to Pokhara (800m) - The day begins with a 200kms drive to Pokhara and it takes about 6-7 hours from Kathmandu by tourist bus. It is an exciting drive that offers beautiful scenic view of terraced rice field, eye catching landscape, Trisuli and Marsyangdi River and spectacular panoramic view of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal and most of Annapurna Himalayan Range are seen from Pokhara city. Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara. Optionally, one can take a 40 minutes flight to Pokhara and join the group at the hotel in Pokhara.

    Drive to Hille through Nayapul and trek to Ulleri (1900m) - From Pokhara we take a ride to arrive at Hille village via Nayapul and then proceed for the trek upto Ulleri, overnight stay in tea houses at Ulleri.

    Trek to Ghorepani (Altitude 2800m) - Today we start of trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani. After a gradual climb in the rhododendron infested forest, we arrive at Ghorepani for our stay. It takes around 6/7 hours of normal walk to get to the beautiful hamlet of Ghorepani from where we can witness the magnificant vistas of Dhaulagiri and Tukuche and the mighty Annapurna range peaks.

    Hike to Poon Hill (Altitude 3200m) and trek to Tadapani (Altitude 2570m) - 5-6 hours walk. Today we get up very early in the morning and climb upto Poon Hill for an amazing and brilliant sunrise with a panoramic view of the high Himalaya, It takes about 45 minutes and 400 meter walk up to the view point. After enjoying the sun rise and vistas of the mountains, return to hotel and proceed to Tadapani after breakfast, trek of approximately 4 hours. Stay overnight at lodge at Tadapani.

    Trek to Chhumrung (Altitude 2170m) - Leaving Tadapani, the trail descends down through forest and we can hear birds chirping. After walking down for about 45 minutes, the trail goes very steep downhill through the terraced field to Kimrung Khola to cross the suspension bridge and walk upto Gurjung. The trail ascends up after Gurjung village during 45 minutes then straight walk to Chhumrung at the elevation of 2170m. It takes 4-5 hours from Tadapani to Chhumrung. Stay overnight at lodge.

    Trek to Himalaya (Altitude 2830m) ~ 5 hours walk. The trail descends down 310 meters through thousands of stone staircase then crosses Chhumrung Khola on the bridge and climbs up to Sinuwa at the height of 2340 meters. It is easy walk through rhododendron festooned with orchids and ferns then steep down with stone staircase to Bamboo. After having lunch there we walk throughout the cool forest for couple of hours to reach Himalaya via Dovan for an overnight stay at lodge.

    Trek to ABC (4130m) - Today is going to be the most memorable day of our trek as we embark on our final stretch towards the Annapurna Base Camp. A gentle walk along the River Modi brings us to Bagar which is the starting point of the trek to MBC situated at 3,700m. We will halt for lunch at MBC before proceeding towards the final leg our journey that leads us to the Annapurna Sanctuary.  After a hike of couple of hours, we finally arrive at the majestic ABC located at the foothills of the Annapurna mountain range.  The sight is to behold as we can spend endless moments to looking at the 360-degree views of some of the highest mountains in the world around us.  Overnight at a lodge in the Annapurna Base Camp.

    Trek down to Bamboo (2310m) - 6-7 hrs walk. After enjoying the brilliant morning at ABC witnessing the magnificent sunrise on the Annapurna range and taking hot cup of tea or coffee with our breakfast, we trek down to Bamboo via MBC, Deurali and Himalaya. We take tea and lunch break on the way. Stay overnight at lodge at Bamboo.

    Trek to Jhinu (1780m) – From Bamboo we walk up for 30 minutes and it is a pleasant jungle walk to Sinuwa, then head down to Chhumrung Khola and walk up long stone staircase up upper Chhumrung. After Chhumrung, the route takes us steep down to Jhinu, and after lunch further descend of around 20 minutes to see the hot springs. Take bath in natural hot water and come back lodge. Stay overnight at lodge at Jhinu.

    Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara by bus. We trek further to Nayapul via Birethanti. It takes about 4-5 hours walk to Nayapul and then head back to Pokhara by private car or van. Stay in hotel in Pokhara.

    Drive to Kathmandu. Shop some souvenirs for dear ones back home and enjoy the last few hours in Nepal. Stay overnight at hotel or proceed for the onward journey back home.
