Kuari Pass Overview

The Kuari Pass trek is perhaps the best known treks in the Garhwal Himalaya. The history of this trek dates back to 1905, when Lord Curzon, then Viceroy of India, trekked to Joshimath from Ghat while crossing over this magnificent Pass. It has been known as the Curzon’s Trail since then. Extremely popular amongst British and American trekkers, the Kuari Pass trek offers majestic views of the Twin Peaks of Nanda Devi (7816m), and the Nanda Devi East (7434m), Kamet (7756m), Dronagiri (7066m), Hathi Parbat (6727m) and GhoriParvat (6708m). The Curzon’s Trail has something for everyone. For the nature lovers, it has rich flora and fauna and for the star gazers, the campsites of Tali and Gorso Bugyal offer a star platter. For those interested in extreme adventure, Auli is known for the best ski slopes in India. Yuvashakti has modified the traditional trek route slightly to make it a relatively moderate one so as to accommodate trekkers of all sorts, beginners as well as experienced.
